What is pallet automation?
Pallet automation refers to the automated provision, storage and handling of workpiece pallets at CNC machining centres. It allows machines to remain productive for longer periods, reduces non productive time and enables more flexible planning of manufacturing processes.
Which machines are suitable for pallet automation?
Pallet automation is suitable for individual CNC machining centres as well as milling machines. PROMOT solutions can also be configured for machining centres without an integrated pallet changer. No distinction is made between 4- and 5 axis machining, or whether machine pallets or zero point clamping adapter pallets need to be automated.
Is pallet automation worthwhile for small batch sizes?
Yes. Especially with small and medium batch sizes, pallet automation helps to decouple setup processes, increase machine running times and implement different production strategies more flexibly. PROMOT solutions are also designed for batch size 1.
Can existing CNC technology be automated?
Yes. PROMOT develops machine manufacturer independent solutions with individual interfaces. This allows existing machines to be integrated into an automated production environment. For existing machines, however, an individual technical assessment is always required.
